FD88

Debuted in 1999, this camera saves to floppy disk and can capture images of up to around a megapixel.

FD75

Despite coming out in 2001 – two years after the FD88 – the FD75 can only take images of up to about 0.3 megapixels. But it offers the cool “multi-mode” and also saves to floppy disks.

FD200

The FD200, which debuted in 2002, saves to disk and memory stick. Images can be taken at a whopping two megapixels.

CD400

Launched in 2002, the CD400 is a real powerhouse — when it’s working. Saving images of up to 4 megapixels onto min-CDs, the CD400 offers amazing image quality thanks in part to its Carl Zeiss lens.

CD500

Launched in 2003, this is the last of the Mavicas, which can trace their roots back to the 1980s. (I own only a handful of the devices; so many more exist.) The CD500 saves up to 5 megapixel images, also on mini-CD. And it also has the awesome, laser “hologram” focusing mechanism.

Other cameras: FD71, FD85, FD87, FD91, FD92 and the CD1000.
